The 4A-GE: 128 hp, 1,587 cc, twin-cam sixteen-valve. Toyota's first truly modern engine in their most basic chassis. The AE86 weighed 940 kg and had a live rear axle that professionals now consider one of the most communicative setups ever made for learning car control.
