About the Quattro 20V

The 20V was the Quattro's final evolution — a 2.2-liter twenty-valve turbocharged inline-five making 220 hp with a smoother, more refined power delivery than the 10V it replaced. The additional valves improved breathing throughout the rev range, reducing the binary turbo-on/turbo-off character of the original. Dual-circuit hydraulic brakes replaced the vacuum-assisted units. The interior gained minor improvements. The exterior remained largely unchanged — the blistered fenders and angular coupe body that made the Quattro recognizable from any angle. Only around 164 20V Quattros were built for the UK market, making it the rarer and more desirable variant. The 20V is the refined Quattro — the one that proved the formula could be civilized without losing its purpose. The 10V is the rawer experience. Both are now worth more than they cost new, adjusted for inflation.
