About the X5 F15
The F15 X5 got lighter despite getting bigger, thanks to aluminum doors and a hood that cut weight where it mattered. The N55 in the 35i made 300 hp, the N63 V8 in the 50i hit 445 hp, and the X5 M got 567 hp from the S63. The eight-speed ZF was standard across the range and shifted with the precision you'd expect. The interior went upmarket with better materials, a wider center console, and iDrive that was now genuinely good. Air suspension was optional and transformed the ride from firm to float. The third-row option returned for families who needed it and used it approximately never. The F15 was the X5 that hit the sweet spot between the E70's rawness and the G05's tech overload. Comfortable, capable, and still recognizably BMW.
