About the Escalade 3rd Generation (GMT900)
The GMT900 was the Escalade growing up. Magnetic Ride Control showed up — the same system from the Corvette — along with a 6.2-liter V8 making 403 hp. The vertical LED taillights debuted here and became the Escalade's visual signature overnight. Inside, the Platinum trim pushed the interior into genuine luxury territory. Real semi-aniline leather, suede headliner, power-retractable running boards. Cadillac even offered a hybrid for people who wanted to feel better about parking a 5,600-pound truck at Whole Foods. This generation ran for seven years because it didn't need replacing. It was the right truck at the right time, and the aftermarket loved it.
