About the Malibu 9th Gen
The ninth-gen Malibu ran from 2016 to 2024, making it the final chapter for Chevrolets midsize sedan. Built on the E2XX platform, it was longer, lighter, and more fuel-efficient than anything before it. The 1.5 turbo four delivered solid economy, and the available 2.0 turbo made it genuinely quick. The interior was competitive, the tech was current, and the price was right. GM killed it anyway because SUVs print money and sedans do not. The ninth-gen deserved a better exit than an industry trend.
