About the F-150 11th Gen

The eleventh-gen F-150 arrived in 2004 and got bigger, bolder, and more capable in every direction. The 5.4-liter Triton V8 was the workhorse, making 300 hp with three-valve-per-cylinder heads that improved both power and efficiency over the outgoing two-valve. Payload went up, towing capacity climbed, and the frame was stiffer than anything Ford had built before. The interior finally felt like somewhere you'd want to spend eight hours. Big step up. But the real story was volume. Ford sold these by the hundreds of thousands every year, fleet and retail, work truck and King Ranch luxury trim. America's best-selling vehicle, and this generation locked in that title for another decade.
