About the Accord CD
Fifth-generation Accord, and Honda was swinging for the mid-size championship. The CD got a complete redesign with rounder, more aerodynamic bodywork and an interior that felt a class above. The F22 SOHC was the volume engine, smooth and reliable. The H22A in the VTEC models made 190 hp and turned the Accord into something genuinely quick. Front-wheel drive, but Honda's geometry kept it honest through corners. The wagon variant was the practical choice nobody regrets. Double-wishbone suspension all around, again, because Honda in the '90s refused to cut corners on chassis engineering. Build quality was absurd for the money. These cars did 300,000 miles without asking for much more than oil changes and timing belts.
