About the Civic 7th Gen
The 7th Gen Civic went global. Honda designed one car for every market and somehow made it work everywhere. The sedan, coupe, and hatchback (Si in the US, Type R in Japan and Europe) shared a platform but felt distinct. The K20A engine in the Type R revved to 8,600 rpm without forced induction. The base models were reliable, efficient, and completely invisible. The 7th Gen was the Civic that proved Honda could build a car for commuters and enthusiasts on the same assembly line without either group feeling shortchanged.
