About the Civic FC

The FC Civic was Honda's pivot to turbocharging. After decades of high-revving naturally aspirated engines, the 10th generation got a 1.5-liter turbo four that prioritized low-end torque over top-end screaming. The Si kept the manual. The Type R — the FK8 hatchback — became the fastest front-wheel-drive car at the Nurburgring. The FC was also the Civic that grew up: better interior, more space, quieter ride. The enthusiasts complained about the turbo. Everyone else noticed the car was just better to live with.
