About the Creta GS

The GS Creta launched in 2014 as Hyundais answer to the subcompact SUV boom in emerging markets. Built specifically for India initially, it offered a raised driving position, available diesel engines, and an interior that felt premium relative to its price. The 1.6 petrol and diesel powertrains were well-matched to the platform, and the ride quality handled rough roads with composure. In India, the Creta became a phenomenon — waiting lists stretched for months. Hyundai had found the exact intersection of price, size, and aspiration that the market wanted.
