About the Santa Fe TM

Hyundai redesigned the Santa Fe for 2019 and dropped the Sport suffix, leaving one model to cover the mid-size SUV space. The TM got a 2.4-liter GDI making 185 hp and an optional 2.0-liter turbo at 235 hp. The turbo was the one that felt right for a vehicle this size. Eight-speed automatic across the range, AWD optional with a lock mode for light off-road. The interior was the biggest jump. Soft-touch materials, an available 8-inch touchscreen, and a cabin that felt like Hyundai had studied the segment leaders and matched them without copying. The third row was deleted, leaving that to the Palisade. Two rows with generous cargo space worked better anyway. The TM was Hyundai's first Santa Fe that didn't need the price tag to justify itself.
