About the MX-5 Miata 1.8 (131 Hp) RWD
The 1.8 upgrade gave the NA the midrange torque the 1.6 lacked. 131 hp and 152 Nm made overtaking less of a planning exercise and highway cruising less of a sustained scream. The chassis gained a torque-sensing limited-slip differential and improved brakes. The 1.8 NA is the practical choice — more usable, faster in real-world driving, and still light enough to feel like a go-kart.
