About the E-Class W213
The W213 was Mercedes proving they could build a tech-forward E-Class without losing the executive sedan formula. The inline-six came back. The M256 mild-hybrid made 362 hp in the E 450, smooth and effortless in the way only a straight-six can be. The four-cylinder M264 handled base duties at 255 hp. 9G-TRONIC nine-speed auto, standard on everything. The interior was the real story. Dual 12.3-inch screens running MBUX, ambient lighting, a cabin that closed the gap with the S-Class more than any E-Class before it. The E63 S got 603 hp and drift mode. A factory-stock executive sedan with drift mode. The W213 sold well because it did everything well, and the facelift tightened up a design that didn't need much fixing.
