Second-gen Qashqai, and Nissan refined what worked without changing the formula. The 1.2 DIG-T turbo made 115 hp, the 1.6 DIG-T hit 163 hp, and the 1.5 and 1.6 dCi diesels handled European efficiency needs. The CMF-C platform was stiffer and lighter than the J10's bones, which helped ride quality and NVH. The interior jumped forward with available leather, a 7-inch touchscreen, and a 360-degree camera system that made parking effortless. The Around View Monitor was the tech feature that sold the car. The J11 drove like a taller hatchback, which was exactly right. Nissan sold over 3 million of them in Europe. The Qashqai owned the compact crossover segment in markets where it was available, and the J11 was the generation that cemented that position.
