About the Golf GTI Mk6

The Mk6 GTI kept the Mk5's PQ35 platform and changed what mattered on top of it. The engine was new: an EA888 2.0 TSI with 210 PS in Europe and 200 hp in the US, 280 Nm from 1,700 rpm and 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. Hans-Joachim Stuck had a hand in the setup. XDS, which brakes the inside front wheel to fight understeer, became standard, and DCC adaptive dampers were optional for the first time. The 2011 Edition 35 made 235 PS with a golf-ball knob, and 2012 added the first GTI Cabriolet. It was also the first GTI with a sound generator, which tells you how quiet the turbo era had made things.
