About the 3 Series E90
The E90 3 Series was BMW's transition car. Electric power steering replaced hydraulic. iDrive became standard. The naturally aspirated inline-sixes lived alongside the new N54 and N55 turbos. Purists complained. Lap times improved. The M3 got a V8 — the S65 screaming to 8,300 rpm — which was either the best decision BMW ever made or a betrayal of the inline-six tradition, depending on who you asked. The E90 was the last 3 Series where you could get a naturally aspirated M car. That alone makes it worth remembering.
