About the Escalade 4th Generation (K2XL)
The K2XL generation is the complicated one. The 6.2-liter V8 grew to 420 hp and the 8-speed automatic (later 10-speed) made it genuinely quicker. Magnetic Ride became standard on Premium trims. The sheet metal got sharper. But then there was CUE. Cadillac's capacitive-touch infotainment system was ambitious for 2015 and frustrating for every year after. Touch-sensitive buttons in a vehicle this expensive felt like a betrayal. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto eventually arrived, and most owners just bypassed CUE entirely. Still moved units though. Because when you're standing next to a K2XL Escalade in a parking lot, you don't think about the touchscreen. You think about the presence.
