About the Escalade 5th Generation (T1XX)
The T1XX is a different animal. Not an evolution — a reinvention. Independent rear suspension replaced the live axle, and the ride quality went from "luxury truck" to "luxury." Full stop. The 38-inch curved OLED dashboard is the thing everyone talks about, and fairly so — it's the best screen in any vehicle, period. Super Cruise handles highway driving hands-free. The AKG 36-speaker audio system costs more than some entire cars. A 3.0-liter Duramax diesel option showed up for the long-haul crowd. And then there's the V. The Escalade-V straps GM's supercharged LT4 to this platform — 682 hp in a vehicle that weighs nearly three tons. It does 0-100 in 4.4 seconds, which is faster than the Escalade has any right to be. The T1XX isn't just the best Escalade. It might be the best luxury SUV, full stop.
