FERRARI 308 GTS
About the Ferrari 308 GTS
The GTS added a removable targa roof panel and became the Ferrari that everyone remembers. Blame Tom Selleck and a red GTS on the highways of Oahu — Magnum P.I. put the 308 in more living rooms than any racing result ever could. Mechanically identical to the GTB, the GTS traded a small amount of structural rigidity for the ability to drive with the Hawaiian sun on your face. The same V8, the same gearbox, the same Pininfarina body — just with a removable panel above the seats and a slightly heavier curb weight. The GTS outsold the GTB significantly, which made purists sniff but made Ferrari's accountants smile. Like the GTB, it progressed through carbureted, fuel-injected, and Quattrovalvole variants. The carbureted GTS is the poster car. The QV is the one you'd actually want to drive across Italy.
