About the Civic Type R FL5

The FL5 is the sixth Civic Type R and only the second sold in the United States. It's based on the eleventh-generation Civic hatchback. Its turbocharged 2.0-litre K20C1 makes 315 hp in America at 6,500 rpm and 310 lb-ft from 2,600 to 4,000 rpm, 9 hp and 15 lb-ft more than the FK8. Europe rates it at 329 PS and 420 Nm, Japan at 330 PS. It's still front-wheel drive with a six-speed manual, standard rev-matching, a lighter flywheel and a limited-slip differential. Honda says it set a front-drive production-car lap record at Suzuka. ADAC lists 5.4 s to 100 km/h, 275 km/h and 1,480 kg. Japan's type approval calls it the 6BA-FL5.
