About the Fit GR
Fourth-gen Fit, and Honda went cute instead of sporty. The GR got softer styling, a friendlier face, and a two-motor hybrid system called e:HEV that made it the most efficient Fit ever. The 1.5-liter with the hybrid made 109 combined horsepower, enough for city use and nothing more. The non-hybrid got the same 1.5 at 98 hp. The Magic Seat stayed because Honda knows better than to remove what works. Five trim levels named after lifestyle concepts: Basic, Home, Ness, Crosstar, Luxe. Crosstar added plastic cladding and a raised ride height for the adventure-adjacent buyer. The interior was simplified with a horizontal dash and excellent visibility. The GR Fit was Honda admitting that the Fit buyer wanted comfort and efficiency over driving engagement. Honest product positioning.
