About the S2000 AP1

The F20C is a mechanical marvel. 2.0 liters, VTEC, 9,000 rpm redline, 240 hp. No turbo, no supercharger. Honda achieved 120 hp per liter through engineering alone: forged pistons, sodium-filled exhaust valves, individual throttle bodies. The AP1 wrapped this engine in a 1,250 kg roadster with double-wishbone suspension and the most precise six-speed manual Honda ever made. Below 6,000 rpm it was civilized. Above VTEC engagement, it was a different car entirely.
