About the S2000 AP2
Honda bored the F20C to 2.2 liters, dropped the redline to 8,000 rpm, and added torque where the AP1 had none. The AP2 was the S2000 for people who drove in traffic. The engine was less theatrical but more usable, the suspension was retuned for stability over rotation, and drive-by-wire throttle replaced the cable. Purists prefer the AP1. Everyone else prefers the AP2. Both are right.
