About the Sorento BL

The BL Sorento was Kias first body-on-frame SUV, and it arrived in 2002 with the ambition of competing against established players like the 4Runner and Pathfinder. The 3.5 V6 produced 192 horsepower through a five-speed automatic, and the ladder frame gave it genuine towing capability. Build quality was decent for the price, and Kias warranty was the strongest in the business. The BL did not win any comparison tests, but it did not need to — it won on value, and that was enough to get Kia into the SUV conversation.
