About the RX-7 1.3 13B-REW Twin Turbo (280 Hp) RWD
Sequential twin turbocharging: the primary turbo spooled low, the secondary came in at 4,500 rpm, and 280 hp arrived with a surge that felt like a second engine switching on. The 13B-REW in the FD was the most powerful rotary Mazda ever put in a production car. At 1,260 kg with near-perfect weight balance, the FD could embarrass cars with twice the displacement. The apex seals would get you eventually. Until then, nothing else felt like this.
