About the C-Class 2.3 2.3-16 (170 Hp) RWD
The 190E 2.3-16 was Mercedes-Benz's first real sports sedan. Cosworth took the M102 engine, added a 16-valve head, and turned a baby Benz into something that could win DTM championships. 170 hp doesn't sound like much, but in 1984 it was enough to worry BMW's M3 — which wouldn't arrive for another two years. The dogleg five-speed, the subtle body kit, the Recaro sport seats. Mercedes built this car to prove they could compete on the track without abandoning the refinement that defined the brand.
