The W204 reached America for 2008 with a longer hood, a shorter tail and a wheelbase stretched 1.8 inches to 108.7. Mercedes split the range into Luxury and Sport: the Luxury kept the stand-up hood star, the Sport moved the star into the grille. Every C300 had a 3.0-litre V6 with 228 hp and 221 lb-ft. Most had a seven-speed automatic, but the C300 Sport came with a six-speed manual as standard. The C350 Sport used a 268 hp 3.5. 4MATIC all-wheel drive was optional on automatic C300s. For 2012 a coupe and a 201 hp 1.8 turbo C250 arrived and the manuals were dropped. In 2013 the C300 switched to a 248 hp 3.5 V6, and it ran to 2014.
