About the Sentra B15
The B15 Sentra arrived in 2000 and Nissan still had the SE-R in the lineup. The QR25DE 2.5-liter in the SE-R made 165 hp, adequate but not as characterful as the B13's rev-happy 1.6. The SE-R Spec V pushed to 175 hp with a six-speed manual, helical limited-slip diff, and stiffer suspension. That was the one worth driving. The base QG18DE 1.8 made 126 hp and was transportation, nothing more. The interior was a step backward from the B14 in some areas, with cheaper materials that aged poorly. The chassis was competent, the Spec V handled well, and Nissan priced it aggressively against the Civic Si. The B15 was a good car that lived in the shadow of the B13's legend and the Civic's dominance.
