About the Skyline GT-R 2.6 Twin Turbo (280 Hp) AWD
The base R34 GT-R got a 6-speed Getrag gearbox (finally replacing the R32/R33 five-speed), the same 280 hp RB26DETT now with ball-bearing turbos and improved response, and a Multi-Function Display on the dash that showed boost, oil temp, and g-forces before smartphones existed. At 1,560 kg it was the heaviest Skyline GT-R, but the chassis was so much stiffer that it didn't matter. This is the car that launched a thousand builds.
