Nissan put the X-Trail on the CMF-C/D platform and the T33 got sharper in every way. The 1.5-liter VC-Turbo three-cylinder with e-POWER made 213 combined hp using a series-hybrid setup where the engine generates electricity and the motor drives the wheels. Smooth, quiet, and efficient. The e-4ORCE twin-motor AWD system added a rear electric motor for genuine torque vectoring capability. The interior jumped forward with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, digital cluster, and materials that matched the European competition. The ride was composed, the cabin was quiet at highway speed, and the cargo space was competitive. The T33 was Nissan's best crossover in years. The e-POWER system felt more refined than a traditional hybrid and the driving experience was closer to an EV than a combustion car.
