PORSCHE 911 992
About the Porsche 911 992
The 992 is the most capable 911 ever built — a statement that has been true of every new 911 generation since 1964 and has never meant less than it does now. The twin-turbo 3.0-liter flat-six makes 379 hp in the base Carrera and up to 640 hp in the Turbo S. The chassis is wider, stiffer, and fitted with adaptive dampers that make it comfortable enough for a daily commute and sharp enough for a track day. The 992 GT3 with the 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six and a manual gearbox is the purist's choice — 502 hp, 9,000 RPM redline, and a sound that justifies the entire rear-engine experiment. The GT3 RS added a massive DRS wing and made the car an aero platform. The 992 also introduced hybrid power for the first time in a 911, with the GTS T-Hybrid combining the turbo flat-six with an electric motor. Every generation of the 911 gets called the best yet. The 992 might actually be.
