About the Impreza GT
Subaru moved the Impreza to the Global Platform for the GT generation, and the difference was immediate. Stiffer chassis, lower center of gravity, better NVH — all the stuff that makes a car feel solid rather than just assembled. Available as both sedan and five-door hatch between 2016 and 2023, the GT was the first Impreza to make a legitimate argument on driving dynamics alone, not just AWD in the snow. The downside? No turbo option. The WRX had fully separated by this point, leaving the Impreza to be sensible. It did sensible well.
