About the Legacy BE

The BE Legacy was the third generation and arguably the best-looking sedan Subaru ever made. Clean lines, mature proportions, and none of the cladding that plagued the cars before it. Under the hood, the EJ20 turbo made 276 hp in the B4 RSK. That number again. Japan's gentleman's agreement fooled nobody, and the BE was one of the best arguments why. Twin-turbo setup in some markets, sequential boost that hit like a freight train above 4,000 rpm. The chassis was stiff, the AWD system sophisticated, and the whole package felt more like a sports sedan that happened to have all-wheel drive than a rally car in a suit. Overlooked outside Japan. That's changing.
