About the Outback BH
Second-gen Outback, and Subaru was still figuring out what it was. The BH shared everything with the BE Legacy wagon, which meant the EJ25 flat-four at 165 hp naturally aspirated and the EJ20 turbo making 250 hp in the H6 and GT variants. The H6 3.0-liter was the smoothest engine Subaru made, 212 hp and no turbo lag to manage. Ground clearance sat at 7.3 inches, enough for fire roads and snow but not enough to call it a real off-roader. The BH was a wagon that could handle bad conditions, and Subaru marketed it as an adventure vehicle before "adventure" became a trim level. Manual transmission available, which is something the modern Outback buyer doesn't get to say. Clean BH examples with the H6 are quietly appreciated.
