About the WRX VB
Subaru killed the STI and made the WRX carry everything alone. The VB got the FA24 2.4-liter turbo flat-four making 271 hp, more displacement and torque than the outgoing FA20. Symmetrical AWD stayed. The manual stayed, six-speed. But the styling split the community down the middle. Plastic cladding on the wheel arches looked like a crossover that got lost. Inside, the 11.6-inch vertical touchscreen dominated the dash in a way that worked better than it looked in photos. The chassis was stiffer, the ride more compliant, and the torque curve fatter than any previous WRX. Drive it before you judge it. The VB is faster and more composed than the VA it replaced. It just doesn't look like it wants to be.
