About the Camry V10
The V10 was Toyotas first purpose-built Camry, launched in 1982 to replace the Celica Camry. It was narrow, lightweight, and front-wheel-drive at a time when that layout still felt like a statement. The 1.8 and 2.0 four-cylinders were efficient to a fault, and the interior was spartan but well-assembled. Nobody bought the V10 to impress anyone. They bought it because Toyota had earned the right to charge a premium for reliability, and the V10 delivered exactly that — nothing more, nothing less.
