About the Camry
The Camry is the most popular sedan in America — and the car that enthusiasts love to ignore until someone hands them the keys to a TRD. Since 1982, the Camry has been the default answer to "what reliable sedan should I buy?" It's the car that Consumer Reports recommends, rental fleets stock, and driving enthusiasts dismiss. The reputation for boredom was earned — the XV20 and XV30 generations prioritized refinement to the point of anonymity. The XV70 eighth generation finally decided that boring was no longer a viable strategy. The styling got aggressive. The chassis got stiffer. The TRD variant added track-tuned suspension and a 301 hp V6 to a car that had spent thirty years pretending performance didn't matter. The current generation went hybrid-only with a 2.5L four-cylinder and electric motor — efficient, torquey, and surprisingly engaging. The Camry doesn't need the enthusiast community's approval. It sells 300,000 units a year without it. On Revnut, the community ranks whether any generation transcended the appliance reputation.
