About the Camry V20

The V20 Camry grew wider, more powerful, and more confident between 1986 and 1991. Available with a 2.5 V6 that produced 153 horsepower, it was the first Camry that could genuinely cruise without feeling strained. The all-wheel-drive variant in Japanese markets hinted at Toyotas engineering ambitions beyond basic transportation. In the US, the V20 established the template that every subsequent Camry would follow: comfortable, reliable, slightly boring, and absolutely dominant in sales. The beige era had officially begun.
