About the Corolla E80
The E80 Corolla was Toyota's last rear-wheel-drive compact before the brand went full front-drive. Most of them were forgettable commuters. One of them — the AE86 — became the foundation of an entire car culture. The lightweight chassis, the high-revving 4A-GE engine, and the rear-drive layout created a car that taught more people how to drift than any racing school ever could. Manga, anime, touge runs. The E80 Corolla didn't plan to become a legend. It just weighed 950 kg and sent power to the right axle.
