About the Corolla
The Corolla is the best-selling car in history. Over fifty million built since 1966. That number is its own argument. Toyota didn't build the Corolla to excite anyone. They built it to work — reliably, affordably, and without complaint in every climate, on every road surface, in every country where cars are sold. The E70 became a taxi fleet staple across the Middle East and Southeast Asia. The E100 was the beige sedan that defined the 1990s. The E120 added a hint of style. Each generation delivered exactly what was promised: transportation that didn't break. But the AE86 — the rear-drive Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno from 1983 — broke the pattern entirely. A 1.6L DOHC four-cylinder, rear-wheel drive, and handling so pure that it spawned an entire drift culture. Initial D made it famous. Enthusiasts made it expensive. Toyota hasn't made anything like it since — until the GR Corolla arrived with 300 hp and all-wheel drive. On Revnut, the Corolla's range from workhorse to drift weapon makes it one of the most interesting rankings on the site.
