About the Hilux N80

The N80 is what happens when Toyota decides the Hilux needs to compete with lifestyle trucks, not just work ones. 2.8-liter turbo diesel carried over but got bumped to 221 hp with a new 48V mild-hybrid option in some markets. The frame is stiffer, the cabin is wider, and there's a GR Sport variant with proper suspension tuning and a locking rear diff. TNGA-F platform underneath, same bones as the Land Cruiser 300. That matters more than any spec sheet number. The interior jumped two generations forward. Touchscreen, digital cluster, wireless CarPlay. Still body-on-frame, still leaf springs in the rear, still built to survive decades of abuse. Toyota made it nicer without making it softer.
