About the Polo Mk2

The Mk2 Polo had one of the longest production runs in VWs history, spanning 1981 to 1994 in various forms. The coupe variant added unexpected style to the lineup, and the G40 supercharged version proved that small VWs could be genuinely fast. The water-cooled engines matured significantly during this era, and the build quality remained a class above most competitors. Thirteen years of continuous improvement meant the last Mk2s were substantially better cars than the first — same body, completely different experience.
