About the 5 Series G60

BMW went electric-first with the G60 5 Series and wrapped it in a design that grew on people slower than the grille grew on the car. The i5 eDrive40 made 335 hp from a single rear motor and the i5 M60 xDrive hit 593 hp. For combustion holdouts, the B58 in the 540i delivered 375 hp. The interior was the real leap. Curved display with iDrive 8.5, a 31-inch theater screen for rear passengers, and build quality that rivaled the 7 Series. The G60 was longer, wider, and heavier than the G30, tipping past 4,400 pounds in some trims. The air suspension soaked up everything. Highway comfort was S-Class territory. As a tech showcase and luxury sedan, the G60 was exceptional. As a driver's car, the weight was harder to ignore.
