About the Camaro 4th Gen
The 4th Gen Camaro looked like a catfish and drove like it meant business. Under the rounded plastic body sat the LS1 — GM's new aluminum V8 that changed the performance car landscape. 305 hp in the SS, rear-wheel drive, and a six-speed manual. T-top models let structural rigidity escape through the roof. The interior was pure 1990s GM, which is not a compliment. But the LS1 made it all worthwhile. Chevrolet killed the Camaro after this generation. The engine went on to power everything from Corvettes to drift cars to boats.
