About the Mustang S650
The S650 is the Mustang that shouldn't exist in an EV world. Ford kept the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 — naturally aspirated, now making 486 hp — and paired it with a six-speed manual or a ten-speed auto. Electronic drift brake, MagneRide dampers, and a digital cockpit dragged the formula into 2024. The Dark Horse variant with flat-plane crank headers hints at what Ford still wants the Mustang to be. How many more V8 generations are left? Nobody knows. But Ford built this one like it might be the last.
