About the HR-V GH
Honda built the HR-V on the Fit platform and the GH was the first generation to reach global markets. The 1.5-liter i-VTEC made 130 hp in most markets, paired with a CVT or six-speed manual. The Magic Seat trick carried over from the Fit, which meant the rear seats folded completely flat and the cargo versatility was class-leading despite the compact dimensions. AWD was available with Honda's Real-Time system. The ride was firm but controlled, the steering was light, and the cabin was quieter than the Fit it was based on. The interior was functional rather than inspiring. The HR-V carved a niche between the Fit and CR-V that Honda didn't know it needed. Subcompact crossover buyers wanted something taller than a hatch but smaller than a RAV4. The GH delivered exactly that.
