A turbocharged Forester that could keep up with WRXs. The SG XT took the practical family SUV formula and added a 230 hp turbo flat-four, a five-speed manual, and enough ground clearance to make the rally connection feel real. It was the Forester that proved Subaru could build a fast car in any body style. The turbo lag was theatrical — nothing, nothing, nothing, then everything. Manual-equipped SG XTs are getting rare now. The people who own them aren't selling.
