The GD STI took everything the GC started and turned up the precision. 250 hp from the EJ20 turbo flat-four, six-speed manual, and the DCCD center differential that let you dial in exactly how much oversteer you wanted. Wider fenders, Brembo brakes, and that wing — functional, but mostly a declaration of intent. The GD proved rally homologation specials could also be refined enough for daily use. Almost.
