About the Impreza GE

The GE Impreza brought the hatchback back, and the Subaru community split in half. Sedan loyalists called it blasphemy. Everyone else appreciated the extra cargo space. The WRX got the EJ25 turbo and kept the rally-car formula alive. The STI added the wider body, bigger brakes, and DCCD center diff that justified the price premium. The GE was wider and heavier than the GD, but more refined and — in STI form — faster. The hatchback made practical sense. The sedan made emotional sense. Subaru sold both.
