LAND CRUISER FJ60 FJ62
About the Land Cruiser FJ60 FJ62
The FJ62 replaced the carburetors with electronic fuel injection and the manual gearbox with a four-speed automatic. Purists called it soft. Everyone else called it civilized. The 3F-E engine made 155 hp — a modest bump — but the real improvement was driveability: smoother throttle response, better cold starts, and marginally improved fuel economy. The automatic transmission made the FJ62 a better highway cruiser and an easier daily driver. The interior gained improved trim and a more modern instrument cluster. These were incremental improvements that made the 60 Series more livable without changing its fundamental character: a truck that could go anywhere and come back. The FJ62 is the one to buy if you want to actually drive your vintage Land Cruiser, not just display it.
